Whether it was to see Kate's dress or their balcony appearance, we have certainly been anticipating this day for a while now!

Whilst the "I do's" and the kiss (or two) on the balcony made us melt, we have to admit Kate's Alexander McQueen dress stole the show and being that we are The Dressing Room it's only right that we have a look at the royal wedding fashion hits.

Kate Middleton: It's only fair to start with the blushing bride who was wearing a stunning Alexander McQueen dress designed by Sarah Burton. Sarah Burton was Alexander McQueens right hand woman for 17 years and boy did she do him proud! The dress is elegant and simple yet eye-catching and fashionable, there was no chance of anyone stealing Kate's show. Kate's style reminds us of Aubrey Hepburn, in the sense that she is timeless, in years down the line when she is showing her grandchildren her wedding album Kate won't be cringing at this dress thats for sure. Every inch of detail was designed and executed to perfection, and we can only hope that Mr. McQueen was looking down on the Queen to be.

Pippa Middleton: She didn't up stage the bride but she definitely picks up the runners up medal for best dressed on the big day. The dress is elegant yet youthful and flirty, it shows of her slender figure and is low cut without being inappropriate. The dress was also designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen. It's a good thing that Pippa has a flawless figure as this dress could be unforgiving, thankfully for Pippa she looked delightful from every angle.

Victoria Beckham: Mrs. Beckham's outfit was almost as much anticipated as the brides herself, especially as it had been reported that David had warned his pregnant wife not to outshine Kate. To ensure she didn't do such VB kept it classic in a boat neck navy tunic dress from her very own collection teamed with customised Christian Louboutin heels and a Philip Treacy hat. Despite keeping her outfit minimal that didn't stop the former Spice Girl from looking youthful and simply stunning... And her arm candy certainly didn't disappoint either!

Samantha Cameron: What was most surprising about the Prime Ministers wife's outfit was not what she was wearing, but more what she wasn't wearing; a hat. Mrs Cameron opted for a simple flower decoration in her hair and was possibly the only lady at the Abbey without a hat on her head! Nevertheless her teal dress teamed with nude heels and a chunky necklace was certainly a hit. The contrast of her orange shawl with the colour of her dress shows Mrs Cameron knows her fashion as colour blocking is a massive trend this season.

Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice: The Princesses of York both went for entirely different outfits for the big occasion; Eugenie went for a colourful combo whilst Beatrice kept it neutral. Wearing a bold blue dress with a voluminous skirt, peacock-feather hat and a flowered jacket, Eugenie ran the risk of going over board on the colours. However, she saved herself with bronze heeled pumps and a matching box clutch. Beatrice on the other hand ran the risk of being too understated in an all neutral ensemble however her Lady Gaga-esque fascinator added a quirky edge to her outfit. We know you're all going to be thinking, which Princess looked best? So we are going to put it out there and say Beatrice edged it in the style stakes.

Tara Palmer-Tomkinson: Sporting an electric blue off the shoulder dress teamed with a matching wrap, clutch, and elbow-length gloves Palmer-Tomkinson looked regal and groomed to perfection. Whilst we aren't in love with her hat, we feel she was probably trying to distract from her nose troubles of late (...meow!). Nevertheless not everyone can pull of an all blue outfit and she did, so high five Ms. T!

Joss Stone: Known for her effortless bohemian appearance Joss Stone went for a completely different look today with a simple pink shift dress and matching jacket. Completing the look with a wide-brim hat the singer looked summery and very ladylike. Could this be a new look for Joss or was she making a special effort for the Royal couple?

That's it for our fashion verdict of the big event, we were tempted to do an analysis of the Queens outfit - but no 85-year-old deserves such scrutiny!

The Dressing Room is currently wiping a tear as the monumental day comes to a close, expect Kate Middleton to rule the fashion world from this day forward. Who do you think stole the show? And more importantly, who tried to steal the show but failed miserably? We'd love to know what you think..

Royal Kisses Princesses.. xx

Royal Wedding Fever has well and truly taken over Britain and by the end of the day Kate and William will finally be married.

The Dressing Room is a bit sad about this - we don’t want to have to go back to worrying about Jordan’s new boyfriend and Cheryl Coles American X Factor Dream, we’ve quite enjoyed someone else stealing the spotlight.
So for today we are going to revel in royalties and make ourselves feel like a Princess. We may not be marrying a Prince, but we are going to shop like we are!
