Quirky online boutique Temporary:Secretary is one of The Dressing Rooms favourite websites so we were delighted when they agreed to do an interview for all you Dressing Roomers.
If you have never shopped on Temporary:Secretary I suggest you do so now (well after you've read this article of course!). I promise you this... you will have never shopped on a website like it. Whilst most websites gain inspiration from fashion trends and eras, Temporary:Secretary is inspired by one thing - fun. Different elements of fun ooze out of the products they sell, from English breakfast rings to fake mustaches.
But don't be fooled, this is no joke shop! Everything they sell is extremely fashionable and wearable. The jewelery they create is unique, their handmade pieces show off your personality and individuality, and most importantly, they make everybody smile.
We've picked three of our favorite Temporary:Secretary products to give you an idea of the amazing jewelery and accessories they have on offer.

So now The Dressing Room has had it's say I think it's time to hear from those who know best! Enjoy this exclusive interview just for you... (and I'm sure you'll love the treat at the end just as much).
How long has Temporary:Secretary been running? and where did the idea behind it come from?
The process of starting Temporary:Secretary began at the end of 2007. The idea came about completely by accident. It was a result of boycotting ebay where I used to sell bits and bobs to earn some extra pennies. I started looking for other platforms to sell my creations and had only intended to make some extra pocket money for uni, but then I realised the potential and have kept it going ever since. It is my full time job now and I am so incredibly grateful for how well it has done, especially in this current economic climate.
Obviously your jewellery is quirky and unique, do you believe there is a lot to be said about a person from the jewellery they are wearing?
Yes, I do. I am all for a nice and expensive sparkly diamond ring as much as the next girl! But Temporary:Secretary products are very unique, and there's something for everyone. For example, we have a few camera related products for those who want to show that they're a fan of Photography. There's also sewing machine Necklaces for girls who are fashion students/seamstresses. And miniature tea cups for anyone who loves a nice cuppa tea! It's an alternative way of expressing your personality. Fashion is fun, and jewellery can be fun too. It is part of fashion and fashion is all about expressing who you are. This is something that we have try to inspire through our brand and our products. Jewellery can have sentimental values but you can express yourself through it, and have fun with it! I want to open up my jewellery box to see cute statement items, as well as sparkly sentimental pieces.
How does it feel to be noticed for your work in some of the biggest magazines, such as Look and Heat?
It's brilliant but we can't take credit for this, our PR team are the ones behind these achievements. The feeling of going to the shops to look for a magazine that you know you're featured in is just incredibly exciting in a "Is this real? Pinch me!" sort of way. But hand on my heart, being noticed and recognized by our customers is just equally as exciting as being featured in national publications. I get the same buzz when someone tweets us to say that they have just discovered our site and that they love it, or receiving an email from a customer that's really pleased and happy with their order. It's what motivates us to keep going. We take all feedback on board, though. Not just the good ones. You have to stay grounded and positive and be prepared with whatever comes along. The bad feedback we get through is so helpful as it helps us grow and improve our business.
Finally, could you pick three of your favourite items from Temporary:Secretary for all of our Dressing Roomers?
Keep Calm and Carry On - £19.40-
I stress out so easily. I flap a lot! This reminds me to stay calm! Available in 6 colours and is one of our best sellers.

Breakfast Ring - £14
YUMMY. Who doesn't love a full English breakfast!

- Alice in Wonderland Charm Bracelet - £35
I love making these bracelets, an exclusive Temporary:Secretary product. We had Alice in Wonderland products in 2008, way before Tim Burton's film came out in 2010. The products were really popular before the film released. Unfortunately, it became a fashion fad for a short while during the film and they're not as popular as they used to be. But I still love them lots anyway! Each charm is so cute.
